Once upon a time, Marie de France, the earliest known French female poet, created her own version of over 100 fables in the moralistic tradition of Aesop. In this charming program of medieval music for children, Ensemble Parlamento dramatizes Marie’s 12th-century tales of greedy dogs, cunning dragons, and other animals, accompanied by medieval lute, flute, fiddle, percussion, and song.
