Arcangelo Corelli is considered the father of the modern violin and the first great violin virtuoso. He was influential to future greats including Bach, Handel, and Vivaldi. Hear his sonatas for solo violin performed by the international sensation Rachel Barton Pine along with works of his contemporaries performed on theorbo, baroque cello, and harpsichord by the musicians of Ars Musica Chicago.
